Vinturas Announces Investment from Wallenius Wilhelmsen to fuel growth, meet strong demand for Blockchain Solutions connecting Vehicle Supply Chain, OEMs and Logistics Service Providers
April 7th, 2022 – Leek, The Netherlands – Vinturas, the first blockchain technology provider securely connecting supply chain networks in the Finished Vehicle industry, today announced a strategic investment by Wallenius Wilhelmsen to meet strong customer demand. In the last several months, as the supply chain crisis has intensified, the need for Vinturas technology solutions among Finished Vehicle OEMs, Fleet Owners, Logistics Service Providers, and Carriers has accelerated.
This new investment will enable Vinturas to continue building out its suite of solutions, scale operations to meet this growing customer demand, and deliver customer successes across all of its engagements. As part of the strategic relationship, Wallenius Wilhelmsen will also deploy Vinturas solutions as part of its global internal operations, and will develop joint solutions with Vinturas and partners in its broader ecosystem to bring new, integrated offerings to market.
“Our investment in Vinturas marks another important milestone in our ecosystem approach to combining digitally enabled end-to end supply chain solutions with our expanding operational network for vehicle logistics. The Vinturas blockchain solution is particularly exciting, as it goes beyond traditional event-based platforms that access and monetize customer data, to instead provide a secure, private network for partners to collaborate and share data only with the partners of their choosing,” said Simon White, EVP & Chief Digital Officer, Wallenius Wilhelmsen.
“There is significant opportunity to accelerate the digitization of the Finished Vehicle industry, moving from paper-based, manual processes for documentation, milestone commitments and record-keeping to entirely online collaboration and communication. A foundational aspect of this, is the need for ownership and privacy of data, and control over who accesses it. We have seen that there is high demand for our blockchain network solution which empowers logistics networks and collaboration, but does not directly access the data of our customers – delivering security and privacy, alongside digital transformation,” said Ronald Kleijwegt, CEO, Vinturas.
Vinturas was formed as a collaborative effort among leaders in the Finished Vehicle Industry to address the ongoing need for secure collaboration across complex global supply chains. While many software providers have created visibility and event-based platforms, there remained a significant gap in digitizing core operational aspects of communication across trading partners, in particular in a secure and private environment for documentation and immutable record-keeping between partners. With the Vinturas Network solution, supply chain partners can accelerate their networks, reduce costs and drive more business.
